Question: Short Story Collections and Authors [Apr. 15th, 2012|02:29 pm]

I love publishing short story collections, as they're dear to my heart,
but I'd like to hear suggestions from you all about which authors
you think needs to be published, for whatever reason aren't, currently.

I'd second Aliette de Bodard and Ken Liu. I'd add Ian McHugh.

And Kaaron Warren has two short story collections that I'm aware of--The Grinding House (published by CSFG) and Dead Sea Fruit (published by Ticonderoga).

Mary Robinette Kowal had a small collection of stories via Subterranean Press called Scenting the Dark and Other Stories. Great stuff.

Unfortunately it got trade reviews, which means it's not easy to reprint it, and get into the library channels. A whole new collection would have to be created, instead . . .
