Obsessions [Aug. 1st, 2004|11:06 pm]

Obsession: Compulsive preoccupation with a fixed idea or an unwanted feeling or emotion, often accompanied by symptoms of anxiety. It begs the question: if I think about publishing twenty-four-seven and I adjust my entire life to fit those requirements, is this necessarily a bad thing? I don't know. I don't have a problem publishing four, eight, twenty, fifty, a hundred, two hundred, five hundred, a thousand titles, if it were within my power (I'd think my body would give out first). If I had to be something that incorporated that mindset, it would have to be a german heftomane publishing company, cranking out weekly novels (in comic book trim size). Yet I've noticed that such high productivity provides little time or energy to focus on individual titles . . . but quantity pays the bills. It's an interesting issue.
